Definition of Cartoons
What do we understand by the term ”Cartoons”?
Cartoons are graphics with satirical and/ or funny content, and always contain a punch line. They are characterized by illustrations and short text, but its definition changed over time. In modern usage, cartoons are referred to a non-realistic artistic style of drawing or painting and to a motion picture, which are created by a cartoonist. Cartoons were originally used to inform people about political news in a critical way and to motivate its reader to reflect about actual circumstances. One of the most famous cartoonists/caricaturists is George Grosz.
